Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Information for people who do not have insurance or who choose not to use insurance to pay for scheduled healthcare items or services.
Last updated: September 2, 2026.
Who this generally applies to
Under the federal No Surprises Act, people who do not have health insurance or who choose not to use certain health insurance coverage to pay for care generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges when they request one or when qualifying healthcare items or services are scheduled in advance.
What the estimate is for
A Good Faith Estimate is intended to show the expected charges for the scheduled items or services from the provider or facility issuing the estimate. The final amount may change if the services actually provided differ from what was reasonably expected, but the estimate gives you information to review before care.
When to ask
You may ask Ohr Wellness for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling. When services are scheduled sufficiently in advance, Ohr Wellness will provide an estimate within the timing required by applicable federal rules.
If the final bill is substantially higher
Federal rules provide a patient-provider dispute process in certain circumstances when a bill from a provider or facility is at least $400 more than that provider’s or facility’s Good Faith Estimate. Additional eligibility and timing requirements apply.
